The District Countdown will serve as your one-stop shop for updates across the district. While buildings may still share grade-level or building-specific updates, this newsletter is designed to be the best place for all families—no matter the grade level—to stay informed about what’s happening in our schools. |
No School the week of November 23rd |
Dear Families,
As we head into the Thanksgiving holiday, we want to take a moment to wish all of our families a happy and restful Thanksgiving!
|
We need your help to define the core values that will guide our school and set our students up for success!
This quick survey is essential because it helps us figure out what matters most to you—our families. By choosing between important skills like Citizenship and Literacy, you are directly telling us where the school should focus its energy, time, and resources.
The results of this survey will be used to rewrite our school's Mission and Vision, ensuring that our goals are perfectly aligned with the needs and values of your family and the entire community.
Please take a few minutes to share your priorities. Thank you for helping us build the best possible future for your child!

Board of Education Moment of Excellence |
Chloe is a dedicated member of our CNE community. She participates in student venture on Thursdays after school and has led many campaigns spreading encouragement whether that be posters around the school or small note cards handed out to students at random. She has also single handedly started a tutoring club for upperclassmen to earn service hours and experience helping their peers and underclassmen to receive help in the classes they are struggling in. She is such a bright star in our student body! |
District Awarded Recognition for PBIS Efforts |
We are absolutely thrilled to announce a monumental achievement for our entire district: every single one of our buildings, along with the district as a whole, has earned State Recognition from the Ohio PBIS Network for our outstanding efforts in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports!
This is a testament to the unwavering commitment, dedication, and hard work of every staff member, student, and family. Implementing and sustaining a high-fidelity PBIS system across a district is a significant undertaking and is not an easy accomplishment.
Our PBIS Recognition Status:
We celebrate the success across all levels:
Preschool: Bronze Recognition
Elementary School: Silver Recognition
Middle School: Bronze Recognition
High School: Bronze Recognition
District Overall: Bronze Recognition
Why is This So Significant?
This level of success is truly rare in the state of Ohio. For the 2023-2024 school year, only 26 districts in the entire state received the District Award. Earning this distinction means we are counted among a very small, elite group of districts recognized for implementing PBIS with fidelity across all grade levels.

Our preschoolers had an exciting week of hands-on learning and exploration! On Thursday, November 20, students attended the Traveling Natural History Museum, an engaging, interactive experience brought right to our district.
Students rotated through four discovery stations—rocks & fossils, insects & plants, lifecycles, and ocean & waterways—where they were able to touch, observe, and ask questions about the natural world around them. Their curiosity and enthusiasm made it a memorable day for all!
A special thank you to our PTO for making this opportunity possible, and to Petermann Transportation for providing safe and reliable travel. We appreciate your continued support in expanding learning beyond the classroom.

Save the date for Santa Shop Saturday, December 6th. Please plan to join us at the elementary school for a new event with games, crafts, shopping, food and fun! The CNE PTO is sponsoring this event, we hope you will join us. |
Here are the winning tissue boxes from our students that participated in the Storybook Tissue Box challenge. We are so proud of all of the kids that showed off their amazing creativity. Just another example of what our talented CNEES Rockets can do! |

CNE High School Awarded for PBIS Work!
PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) is a district-wide approach to supporting students. It involves a lot of effort from all staff members, especially a group of teachers that come together on our PBIS team.
This week, our school found out that we earned the PBIS Bronze Award for the work done at the High School last year. This is the first time we’ve received this award, and it takes a lot of concentrated effort to earn this. We’re proud of this achievement, and our goal is to continue the work and earn Silver next year!
